The Pre-Law initiative at Washington College serves students interested in pursuing law school and careers in law. It provides students with law school planning, individual advising, preparation workshops, admission information, and more.
While law schools do not require specific majors, our pre-law advisors can provide guidance. A wide variety of majors give students an excellent foundation for law school, and a liberal arts education can be quite helpful. Our liberal arts curriculum, with its emphasis on critical thinking and effective oral and written communication, will help you hone the skills you will need in the legal profession. You should select a major and plan an undergraduate experience in which you will be successful and helps you acquire skills that are essential in preparing to perform well on the LSAT, in law school, and ultimately as a lawyer. These skills include analytical and coherent thinking, critical reasoning, perceptive reading, and a strong command of the spoken and written language.
The LSAT National Test Dates are scheduled to take place on September 26, 2009, December 5, 2009, and February 6, 2010. For times, location and additional information, please visit www.lsac.org.
The Washington College Career Fair will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Cain Gym. For further information on this event, please visit http://career.washcoll.edu/annualcareerfair.php.
